About Barbados

Barbados is an independent island nation located in the western Atlantic Ocean, just to the east of the Caribbean Sea, found at roughly 13° north of the Equator and 59° west of the Prime Meridian. Located relatively close to South America, the nation of Barbados is around 434 kilometres (270 mi) northeast of the South American nation of Venezuela.

  • Land and property are available without restrictions to non-nationals.

  • A non-Barbadian buyer must first get permission from the Central Bank of Barbados. This step is merely a formality.

  • Vendors are liable for the property transfer tax which is charged at the rate of 10% of the purchase rice.

  • Non-nationals can get up to 70% financing via FirstCaribbeanBank or bnbbank (barbados national bank)

  • It is advisable to employ the services of an attorney-at-law and a reputable real estate agent to handle these transactions. Legal fees are approximately 2% of the purchase price.
